Sometimes you can be happy with your body and look well defined but you might have a little pouch or look slightly pregnant! It is normal to feel full after you eat, especially at Christmas time with all those parties.
If you suddenly can’t fit into your favourite pair of jeans or Christmas outfit then you’re probably suffering from a bit of bloating – which can be easily fixed with a few adjustments.
Now there are certain foods that the belly reacts to so I suggest keeping a food diary for a week. Try writing down how you felt after each particular meal or food, i.e. “I felt bloated after eating ice cream,” or “My stomach didn’t feel right when I forgot to drink two litres of water.” You might discover an intolerance to certain foods, you might need more fibre or more liquids ( that doesn’t mean more alcohol though!).
What foods should I avoid to stop feeling bloated?
Everyone is different and different foods react differently with different people. For example I know for a fact most alcoholic drinks don’t agree with me. I get severe stomach aches the following morning. If you want to make a quick change to what you eat, here are the typical foods to generally avoid and some to add to your diets:
Foods to avoid
1. Gluten (yes obvious but still true) as it is hard to digest- include sprouted grains and nut flowers instead to replace.
2. Dairy (cow derived) – try coconut or almond milks
3. Red meat combined with a big portion grains
4. Highly processed foods that have no live enzymes
5. Sugar alcohols such as sorbitol and malitol – check labels
Foods to take
1. Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar 20min before meal
2. Probiotic Coconut Yoghurt
3. Digestive enzymes as a supplement, such as Digest Gold by Enzymedica
4. Organic Aloe Vera Juice
Other foods that will help you reduce bloating are: cucumber, bananas, papaya, asparagus, fennel seeds and ginger. Most importantly eat in a relaxed environment, away from TV and phones, technology.
